I am a modern watercolorist who works in a traditional way. I live in upcountry Maui which is the subject of a lot of my Maui work.

I work by searching out the rare view of landscape, and by scouting sites where other people may not have looked. I treasure Maui’s abundance of old properties that tell us something about life here many years ago. I’ve received three Awards of Recognition along with the honor of purchases by the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. I regularly exhibit in juried shows on Maui including the Hui No’Eau Annual Juried Exhibition, ArtMaui, the Schaefer Portrait Challenge, and the annual Art of Trash Exhibition.

I also accept commissions for people or businesses. Some of my watercolor commissions include large pieces for the Tufts-New England Medical Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Fidelity Investments, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, American International Group (AIG), the Arizona Inn, and the late Malcolm Forbes.
